CAPE TELEVISION CERTIFIED SPOILER FREE REVIEW™

Part two of the mission to 1986 and the Soviet Union takes a turn for the grim in this episode. Ray Palmer and his pal Mick the pyro get used to life in a Soviet prison as Vandal Savage's goons try to find a way into the brain of Martin Stein. The would be conqueror wants to know how to make his own team of Firestorms so he can take over the world. (Apparently, he hasn't considered what a management headache that is). So Rip Hunter's team mounts a suicide mission. What could go wrong?

To start, Rip Hunter is the worst team captain ever. I'd imagine a dodgeball team run by him might end in tragedy and death. While entertaining, the writing on this show is uneven. People act illogically to further the plot. As usual, the best thing about the show is the team of Captain Cold and Heat Wave played by Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell. Strangely, things seem to work out for the heroes. Now, if only the writers could find a way to make the show a little more reasoned.

Legends of Tomorrow is on The CW, and on Hulu on your Roku.
