The police see Spidey exiting the Midtown Museum in the dead of night with a bag of loot in one hand and assume the worst. Mysterio calls J. Jonah Jameson and offers to finish off the criminal Spidey for a fee. The black-hearted muck-raker agrees. When surrounded by the police, Spider-Man makes a bullet-proof shield out of his webbing. (That webbing might as well be called 'plot device'.) The Daily Bugle prints a blackmail note on the front page and a bit of stock footage later, the Spider-Man and Mysterio battle on top of the Brooklyn Bridge.
Spider-Man follows the villain to a television studio and gets Mysterio to confess on tape to the robbery. Then he gives the bad guy a beating. Without his fish-bowl-helmet, Mysterio looks a lot like Mister Spock. Betty Brant has hair the color of a carrot. That is all.
