The Flash: Running to Stand Still

The Flash: Running to Stand Still

The cold introduction has Zoom running down Professor Wells and delivering an ultimatum that leads to a not shocking revelation at the end of the episode. But first in the lead story, the Weather Wizard comes to Central City, bringing along a White Christmas. Part of his Christmas Miracle is breaking Captain Cold and the Trickster out of jail and that's where the real fun begins.

The Trickster is played with a full speed lunacy by Mark Hamill who voiced The Joker for years on Batman: The Animated Series. The writers took a cue from that cross pollination and have the Trickster doing several Joker-ish things, like sitting in for a mall santa. In a weepy side plot, Detective West discovers he has a son. In the end, super-science defeats super-science and Christmas arrives on time. More like a Festivus Miracle.

Flash is on The CW, and on Hulu on your Roku.
