CAPE TELEVISION CERTIFIED SPOILER FREE REVIEW™
The Flash comes to that aid of his biggest enemy in this episode as Captain Cold is kidnapped in the middle of a crime by his long lost father. Frowning ensues.
Team Arrow returns from a third season that more or less wrapped the story of Arrow. The bad guys were all beaten. Oliver rode off into the sunset with his best girl. Everyone got some measure of justice. But nothing ever ends, and a new menace has returned to Oliver's city. The remaining members of Team Arrow are outmatched so it is time to put the band back together.
This episode cements The Flash as the geekiest comic book show on television, and that is meant in the best way possible. The show opens with Jay Garrick, the Flash of Earth 2, telling the gang at STAR Labs that their world is in danger by threats from his home world. As a precaution, Team Flash runs a few tests on the speedster and locks him in their basement prison. Professor Stein explains the multiverse and people await the arrival of the Villain-of-the-Week. This time, his name is Sand Demon and he has orders to kill the Flash.
The murder of the week is committed at a fraternity party when a bro dressed as Caesar is stabbed repeatedly when a friend, Roman or countryman lends his kidney an icepick. After a plate of nachos with extra gray matter, Liv goes full bro. Several rounds of beer pong and several chest bumps later, the clever little mystery wraps up.
This episode kicks off the second season of the zombie-mystery mash-up. Liv has been ostracized by her friends and family because her unique condition does not allow her to do the kind of useful things a normal person might do, like donate blood to save a relative. Major and Blaine are still more or less cured of their zombie state, but now, they have a zombie-sense alerting them when a brain-eater is nearby.
